What are modified atmosphere bags?

It is a bag made from a mixture of various recyclable 100% polymers. Its main characteristic is to control the ethylene emission of the fruit, vegetables, or aromatic herbs packaged in it, by managing the internal/ external CO2/O2, thus controlling the respiration rate of the packaged product and therefore its maturation process.

How modified atmosphere bags work

The control of the interior atmosphere, achieves that after the period of permanence of the product inside the bag, the organoleptic properties, the general appearance, the state of maturation, color, etc. have not varied. On the other hand, controlled humidity ensures that the hydration level is adequate at all times, avoiding weight loss due to dehydration.

How long do modified atmosphere bags last?

Conservation periods of up to 60 days (depending on the product) make it ideal for shipments to markets where transport periods are long. The material is supplied in customized units for individual boxes, or in large formats, ideal for full pallets, both for transport and for refrigerated storage at source.
